Staged Image

Staged Imageis a video installation. It consists of video image that includes fragments of the themes explored during the work’s process. The work makes use of scattered and porous visual composition instead of a narrative storyline typically employed in traditional film making.

The images deal with topics such as gaze, intimacy, frustration with the normative imagery of films, the performativity of sexuality, archives, an the materiality of moving image.

Cutting the film and breaking it down, made it possible to create a new dimension where the different components of the film have been released from their earlier, narrative-supporting functions. This way, they form a random, joyful entity. The distorted, malfunctioning video image raises a question about the traditional image of a man.
