Boy with a hat

“Boy with a hat“ was a video installation put up in Vapaan Taiteen Tila gallery space in Helsinki, Finland in 2023. The work was part of group exhibition “Hourglass”. The exhibition space itself is a bunker, which is an interesting addition to the work. When experiencing the video installation in the bunker, it starts to feel like being inside a container. The work is a fragmented story about a boy, who has watched a lot of western series. The video explores heteronormative role models, masculinity, sexuality and fragility through expired role models and intimacy in limited spaces.
